Great scenery all around, and it was close to some of the must-see destinations in southern Iceland without being too far from the Capital. Great place to stay for the price, and everything was clean.

Skogafoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, impressively large, and if there is even a little bit of sunshine, there will be a rain bow in front of the falls. The town of Skogar includes a noteworthy folk history museum.

Great place to stop at while driving to Vik!
Great place to stop at while driving to Vik! There are many things to see and do and endless hiking paths to follow. A few waterfalls around including Kvernufoss, which was amazingly hidden, but very near the Skogar Museum. The museum offers a variety of exhibits on history of the area ( outside part including turf houses), but also technical part - really amazing and great thing to do when the weather is not promising. We stayed at hotel Skogafoss and we had a real blast there! Highly recommended due to facilities and service alike. There is a Eyjafjallajökull visitor centre, right below the volcano- unfortunately closed during winter season. We drove and walked to Seljavallalaug hot spring natural pool, where you can swim, however water is quite cold. The surroundings is beautiful though. Further south you can drive towards Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara/Black beach. We loved Skogar area very much and had amazing time at different spots around.

The waterfall is the highlight, and if you have time, you should walk a bit further on the trail above it. It’s a beautiful hike.
The folk museum is amazing, sounds corny, but it’s really good. It has an excellent cafe too.
Area is close to Vik and the black sand beaches.
The bistro at hotel Skogafoss is consistent and the food is good and reasonably priced for Iceland.
Sadly the ‘secret’ waterfall now has a highway trodden too it and lots of erosion on site as people have climbed all over the grass outposts and killed all the vegetation.
Laura was pleasant at the front desk. The room was fine-comfortable bed, lots of room to spread out. The best thing about this hotel is the location. You are a five minute walk to Skogafoss, but we felt it was very overpriced. The hotel itself is standard, nothing extravagant. The restaurant had very good food and was reasonably priced. The servers were very kind and professional. The free parking was also a nice perk. We did not have a view of the falls, but it was still very expensive. I guess you pay for the location.
Nice reception area with helpful staff. Free hot drink facilities in reception.
Rooms were bigger than expected with a wet room shower. Bed was comfy.
Had the icelandic lamb for dinner in their restaurant which was delicious, cost £26 but I think that's good for Iceland!
Quiet location and plenty of parking.
Breakfast was basic but adequate - cereal, dried fruits, jam, peanut butter, cream cheese, cold cuts, boiled egg salad, breads, fresh fruit, juices & hot drinks.
Fine for 1 night.
Large apartment, good shower - though bear in mind that there is only one shower for the whole flat (not an issue for us as we were only a family of 4). Well-appointed kitchen. Waterfall view from the flat. Excellent restaurant at the main hotel a 2 minute walk away. Hot tub a great bonus, though the water was very hot (for seasoned hot tub users)! Netflix on tv.
Our room was not so big but clean. Also, at that moment we seems to be the only guests and the staff proposed to bring special breakfast for us or have it in their other hotel even closer to Skogafoss, that was super nice:) and breakfast was delicious!
The most satisfying I assume is location, almost at Skogafoss waterfall!
Perfect location for Ring Road and Skogafoss waterfall.
Rather basic accommodation but it had all we needed for a nights' stop-over. A big plus was that there was a quite good restaurant so that we didn't have to go 'dinner-hunting' in the evening. Very nice green surroundings and very close to the waterfall.
We really enjoyed our stay. The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent, and the view from our room was breathtaking. They also have a private beach, which is a 20-minute walk away. We had a surprise guest (an Iceland horse/pony) who was grazing just outside the hotel breakfast area, which made our day!
They staff were friendly and helpful. The location was a short walk from Skogafoss waterfall and the Skogar museum was next door. We chose Kverna due to the location as we had certain places we wanted to visit nearby and further afield. It was our base for 1 nights before moving up to Fludir.
The location was amazing and the views were postcard perfect. We enjoyed happy hour after checking in and a lovely dinner. You're not near a town or other restaurants so plan on eating at the hotel. It was the perfect location for driving down to the black sand beach near Vik.
The breakfast was fabulous, with cooked options, plenty of fruit and vegetables, cereals, home-made jams... and mini custard doughnuts were a real hit!
Perfect location within walking distance from the Skogar Museum, Kvernufoss and Skogafoss.
Friendly staff at the check-out.
Place is super clean and very well kept. Kitchen very equiped. Nice views from every side of the house. 2 shared bathrooms for 5 rooms which is very good. Perfect location, next to Skogafoss. Bus stop very close by. Restaurant close by. I HIGHLY recommend this place.
Self contained apartment with large foyer, two large bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. Loved the little boot heater/dryer. View was fantastic. Menus of local restaurants in foyer. Bathroom had heated towel racks.
